Now it’s easier than ever to qualify for a membership! You’re eligible to join if you fall into one of the following:

  • All persons who live, work, or worship in any of Michigan’s 68 counties within the lower peninsula
  • For a business to be eligible for membership, you must have greater than 50% of the ownership interest (individuals who, when combined, own greater than 50% of the company).
  • For non-profit organizations, requirements are:
    • Educational related groups
    • Majority of members are eligible to join

Get Started

Opening an account or applying for a loan requires the following information:

  • Certification of Tax ID/Social Security number
  • Appropriate identification for all signers. All persons named as authorized signers on the account must sign in person at the branch or have their signature notarized on the signature card.

Other Required Business Forms

Sole Proprietor

  • DBA Certification


  • Partnership Agreement and/or Operating Agreement
  • DBA Certificate

Limited Liability Company (LLC)

  • Articles of Organization
  • Operating Agreement (if available)


  • Articles of Incorporation
  • Corporate By-Laws

Non-Profit Organization

  • Entity Charter or By-Laws (must include statement confirming non-profit status in accordance with IRS code)
